Research indicates over and over the strong correlation between parent involvement and student achievement. One of my favorite books on the topic is Beyond the Bake Sale by Anne T. Henderson, Karen L. Mapp, Vivian R. Johnson, and Don Davies. It’s filled with anecdotes about what works and lots of strategies to begin building strong family-school partnerships.

Of course, one way is to host a Family Math Night event. Family Math Night events are a great way to get parents involved on an academic level, in addition to many other benefits. Here are 8 of them (pdf version below):
