“He loved playing the game because we played as a family and he felt happy.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This quote, from a parent in our recent Take-Home board games case study<\/a>, reminded me how important it is to engage<\/strong> with each other face-to-face<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a world where screens often dominate our attention, physical connection sometimes gets lost. And now with AI becoming more prevalent, it’s essential to remember that, according to child psychologists, children learn best from meaningful, in-person interactions with others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is, families really do want to spend time together. But they have busy lives and sometimes fitting quality time in it can be hard to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how can schools help bring families together?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turns out, schools are fabulous places for families to connect. Fall carnivals, movie nights, spring flings…all bring families together in an environment that supports human connection. But, as parent and family engagement guru Dr. Karen Mapp always says, schools also need to connect families in ways that are linked to learning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s where we come in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Family Math Night <\/a>events help engage families in fun, hands-on math activities that support classroom learning. They also offer opportunities for schools to share tools and strategies that parents can use to help their child at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, we’ve got the link to learning<\/em> covered. But Family Math Nights are more than just academic events. They’re face-to-face, non-screen gatherings that offer children rich opportunities to connect, communicate and grow emotionally, socially, and psychologically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So with one event, schools can get families engaged in learning while at the same time foster positive interpersonal relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let me show you how. Below is a video of one of our recent Family Math Night events. Notice how families<\/strong> are actively engaged in <\/strong>doing <\/em><\/strong>math side by side<\/strong>. Then listen to the wonderful chatter as they spend quality time together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
