I’m very excited to share with you our latest Family Math Night and parent engagement product – Play-N-Take 3<\/a>. In the video below I describe these super fun and engaging math games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first, I want to share with you two recent reports that underscore in a very big way the importance of early math skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first is from the Thomas B. Fordham Institute and synthesizes recent research<\/a> from the Urban Institute’s Income and Benefits Policy Center. This line from the article sums it up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Findings indicate that improving children’s math scores outshines all other factors and increases adult earning the most.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second is from a study<\/a> that explored the relationship between board games and math skills in young children. The findings indicate that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Board games enhance mathematical abilities for children from 45.6 to 100.6 months since they help achieve statistically significant gains.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I share these with you as we launch our new Play-N-Take 3<\/a> board games because playing quality math games in the elementary grades can have positive long-term outcomes for our students. And since games are fun to play, getting students engaged is easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like all of our K-5 math games<\/a>, the Play-N-Take 3 <\/em>games are standards-based and reinforce classroom learning. In addition, the games have multiple versions<\/strong> which makes differentiation<\/strong> super easy…not to mention that they are also available in Spanish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
